Let the light pierce through the darkness Close all old accounts, turn a new leaf Re-learn that old lesson of friendship Kill nor be killed, settle for lessening Amidst us of this fossilized hatred
Transient Dreams
glimpses of life… silence and chaos; laughter and tears…
Perhaps that time has not come yet when our, Gods would listen to the beats in our hearts, peace and happiness spread their glow, perhaps we would have to force Mother Time?.
Four Walls, Two Windows
I am aware that I am less than some people prefer me to be… But most people are unaware that I am so much more than what they see.

Yay! No need for surgery!
I wasn’t able to go to the doctor the day I said I was supposed to but I finally went to the hospital yesterday. My doctor is supposed to be really good. He gave me a medical certificate for school so I can claim my I.D. but I still need to get an x-ray of my whole spine so he can measure the angle of my scoliosis. After that I’ll have to go for yearly check-ups to monitor the progression (if any) of the curve. He told me that it’s not expected to get worse because I’ve reached bone maturity. I really hope that it won’t. I practice proper posture but the curve will always be there unless I have surgery…but I *really* don’t want to have surgery. I’d be happy to have physical therapy sessions everyday or at least every week if it’d help my back.
School starts tomorrow! Waaaaaaaaaah! I’m nervous. I have a class in one of the buildings where there’s a different dress code and I have no idea if I have to follow it. I think I remember the orienter saying that if you’re only taking a minor course there and you’re part of another college (I’m in the School of Design and Arts, the building is for the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management). I’ll have to ask my friend (I’ve texted her a few times but she still hasn’t replied) or my old dormmate about this.
I bought some new books the other day (AGAIN). And I still have two books reserved at Powerbooks. Here’s what I got: Here Comes the Bride: Women, Weddings, and the Marriage Mystique by Jaclyn Geller (“I am, as they say, happily married–but after reading this excellent exposé of the marriage mystique, I can’t say I’m proud of my status. Jaclyn Geller reveals all the privileges that wedlock confers–and all the penalties for remaining unwed. This is an eye-opening book that will forever change the way you look at diamond rings, registries, wedding invitations . . . and marriage itself.” ~Leora Tanenbaum, author, Slut! Growing Up Female with a Bad Reputation - Isn’t that intriguing?), The Golden City by Catherine Nicolson (tagline: “Her dream was to change the world.” - it was enough to make me pick up the book) and How Animals Mate by Daniel Mueller (I’ve heard about this book and seen it on various bookshelves so many times that I decided it was time to pick it up and get a copy for myself).
Amy, I’d probably still have a few private entries that won’t be accessible to anyone because some things are just too personal to share. I suppose I’m doing it because I need to start opening up to others and this is the first step. I usually keep things to myself and I know that’s not healthy. ♥ We share the same dream! Books are lovely and I’d love to have my own HUGE library too..someday. ♥ Thank you for including me in your prayers..it really means a lot to me.
Shari, thank you! ♥ Awfully awful? *gulp* What happened? - if you don’t mind telling me - Gaaaah…doctors are scary. And the stuff my best friend tells me about what really goes on in hospitals always make me think twice about trusting them with my life. ♥ Yes, I really believe that. Books are an investment. That’s why I never regret it when I buy a new book even though my love for the written word sometimes leaves me broke. ♥ Friends. I guess it’s just really hard to trust someone? And I think I’m really good at burning bridges because…well, it’s probably self-preservation. I believe that when you love or trust someone, you automatically give them the right to hurt you. So I just stop. I know some of them hurt me unintentionally but that somehow makes it worse. Because they do care. That’s why enemies are easier to have - you don’t expect them to betray you because you never trusted them to begin with. ♥ haha! Mainstream = BAD. I have a real aversion to conformity. Monica, Sandra Oh is such a great actress! The role of Cristina Yang is perfect for her.
♥ I got the smilies from Rebellion but the site is now offline.
But I could send you the smiley pack if you like.
Anna, you are NOT a loser! It’s hard enough to keep up with ONE blog but two? eep! But I felt like I needed to do it. Let’s just hope I don’t end up neglecting it. ♥ The trip to the doctor wasn’t as bad as I thought. *whew. ♥ I
moleskine! I’d like to buy an 18 month diary but it’s not available from the online store I buy from yet. It’s much cheaper to buy online than in the regular bookstores. I got them for only half the regular price.
♥ Weeeeeee! Yay! Thank you for visiting the Midheaven Archives. I wasn’t sure anyone would even want to visit it. I hope you’ll keep visiting..I still have hundreds more to add! ♥ I was really worried I wouldn’t make friends at the orientation. Good thing I saw my old dormmate before it started. She even introduced me to her batchmates from our old school. ♥ Yes, Grey’s Anatomy is definitely worth the wait!
Carrie Szczepanski, I think I’ve only seen Smallville once or twice..but I never got to finish either of the episodes. I think I was hooked on another series at the time?
Simply Precious, *poke* Thank you hun! Julie, thank you!
Denise, LOL. I wasn’t that dressed up. haha. But he gave me the medical certificate so…yay for me!
♥ And yay for books! Anna, I’ve always wanted to read one of Haruki Murakami’s novels but I never get around to buying one. Gaaaaah! Thank you for the suggestion - now I’m really going to buy one!
♥ Oh! You should get a Moleskine notebook too! There are a lot of online stores selling them - all over the world.
Emz, thank you so much!
I’m glad somebody really enjoys reading my blogs. ♥ Hmmn..I’ve moved around some of the codes, hopefully that will help with faster loading time. *grins* ♥ Scoliosis is a condition that involves complex lateral and rotational curvature and deformity of the spine. Dextroscoliosis is a scoliosis with the convexity on the right side. My condition is not severe so it doesn’t require surgery but if I wanted to get rid of the curve, surgery is the only real solution.
♥ My uncle will be putting together my new bookshelf today! Yay! Tee, I thought of using one of those plugins but I figured it’d be better to just set up my private blog somewhere else. That way, regular visitors would always see the public entries.
Brenda, “Don’t let anyone hold your happiness in their hands. Hold it in yours so it will always be within your reach. STAY HAPPY…it’s not merely an emotion..it’s a CHOICE!”
♥ Thank you for voting for my blog! I really appreciate it! Trixie, that was wonderful of you…I find it so hard to let go of any of my books - even the ones I rarely read - but I’m going to start collecting extra copies of my favorites for donations and hopefully, other people will discover how wonderful they are.
Kimberly, thank you! ♥ I hope your friends and classmates respect your privacy! They should know that reading your blog against your wishes is an invasion of privacy. Fruity, thank you for linking me!
*hugs* ♥ I know what you mean… I hope I’ll still be able to keep up with both of my blogs once school starts. I’ll probably only blog here at TD if I get too busy. Kelly, oh, that was the two-part episode right?! “The End of the World (As We Know It)” - we loved it…but it was really sad.
I could never get over the scene where the bomb squad member blew up after the bomb was removed.
Sometimes you have to put walls up… Not to keep people out..but to see who cares enough to break them down.

Oh, and just in case you’re wondering, I got the title of this blog entry from one of the books mentioned above (the one about marriage) - it was published by Four Walls Eight Windows in the U.S. - my room has four walls and two windows. Go figure.

Aww! I’m happy to hear that you don’t need surgery!!! =)
Wow… Good luck with school, Fatima!
Wow, may dress codes? nakakatuwa naman yun.
Sa amin kasi, rumampa ka sa uniform, haha.
Alang porma porma, pare-pareho kami. huhu.
Yay for no surgery too! Woot. I’m happy for you. For real. :D I guess they have a dress code simply because it’s the Hotel faculty. I used to visit my friend at a place like that and I was told that I couldn’t go in with my Converse sneakers on. I was pretty pissed. (Never went there ever again!) Those books do sound interesting. Let me know how they go, maybe I should invest in a new set of books. I finished reading my current collection. Twice! Good luck with the first day of school, hope everything goes well.
Hey thanks for visiting and commenting my site. Appreciate it a lot. Ohh that’s good that you don’t need a surgery. I think getting therapy is much way better than surgery. Good luck in school. Guess you must be excited eh… Anyway have a good day.
Yay for no surgery
Good old dress code. At least for me it all depends on your major so you would follow that opposed to another. Especially since one would have to take classes outside of their major.
I would love to have the smilies! They’re so cute
(Hmm, the rest of the comment didn’t post…so here it is again) lol
I can’t say I’m an avid reader, but what is your favorite genre? It seems you like them all
but I am curious (hopefully I didn’t miss anything on your site that actually says what it is!)
And back to GA. I loved “bomb squad guy” (Dylan Young(?)) lol. He’s on Friday Night Lights now - another show I adore.
wow, that is good news that you dont need surgery, I heard that especially on the spine that is some scary stuff !
more odd dressing occasions? How do you get yourself into all of these? lol, I’m sure if you wear something conservative no one can get too angry, right? ooo, still kind of scary, I hope you get a hold of your friend to ask
that bride book sounds interesting, hmm
That’s awesome that you don’t have to have surgery.
Hopefully physical therapy will be enough
lol i don’t like books at all..
Well, I like books when they are interesting to me.
Good thing that you don’t need to have surgery.
Hi Fatima! I just noticed at the end of your blog you actually addressed my question! Hehe, I think that’s fit as well that you decided not to pick the plugin. It’s really in the end your preference.
You’re married as well? That’s awesome, hehe as I am too… and we’re only two years apart.
I hope your health is doing ok!! It wouldn’t be good if you have to go to the hospital, and are you working between your school schedule and your health schedule then?
Try not to stress then!
Oh I’m glad you don’t have to have surgery! I also recently found out I wouldn’t have to have surgery (VERY VERY minor though, so not as big a deal as yours), and it’s just nice not having to worry about that sort of thing.
Hope you enjoy your book! The subject of marriage, and wives, is VERY interesting, in my opinion.
I took a women’s studies class my senior year of high school, and still use information from that class in conversation, in order to explain to people why the institution of marriage so often fails.
Oh that whol eback thing sacres me, I’m just afraid of surgrey not matter how tiny it is.
Oh that book sounds really good, maybe I’ll go look fo rit.
I’m not sure about the whole dress code thing, I would check it out just to be safe you know?
I hope your back is feeling better, I know what it feels like cause I have a curve in my spine as well.
It can be pretty painful.
Yay for not having to have surgery! That must be a relief for you :D Good luck at school! A different dress code? My goodness. I don’t think my uni has a dress code! *lol* Ah books, I have so many unread ones on my bookshelf. I will read them one day.
It must be tough to suffer from scoliosis… and be a student… as one has to carry all those heavy course books. I remember going to university — carrying a heavy notebook and books all day. Really bad for the back… On the other hand, I’m not in university any longer… and I still carry a load of stuff to work… Thankfully, my laptop is much lighter now, lol.
i miss you, fatima. wow, i hope you’re doing well. good luck with school and such things. and btw, i love the quotes on this entry, i’m borrowing to put on my myspace profile. =]
Great luck with school! The Golden City is a more than excellent book, I’m certain you’ll enjoy it.
As for How Animals Mate…I’m wary just hearing the name of the book!
Medical things like surgeries always scare me, and to think my mum wants me to become a surgeon!
oooh.. well pray that you won’t undergo surgery! Nothing is impossible with God
ohh good that you dont need the surgery
less pain
hope you had a cool first day at school
Your making me want to read a book
Hope you get that dress code figured out, it sounds confusing.
Hope you don’t have to have surgery.
Hooray for not having to get surgery!
I was afraid I had to because of my foot, but my parents and I chose not to. x_x
I hope those therapy sessions will help!
Good luck at school!
Oh thank God you don’t need surgery! That’s awesome! What a relief! Yearly check-ups and physical therapy doesn’t sound too bad in comparison.
Ooooh school! Sounds kinda exciting. But what’s with the different dress code? I guess it’s a safety precaution or something? Coz people will be dealing with food and stuff.
Hooray for books! I love spending hours getting lost in a bookshop. There’s just something about the bookshop that makes me lose myself. I think it’s the music or something. Nah it’s the books. You gotta love those books.
That’s good that you won’t need surgery! My cousin has scoliosis and she does competitive cheerleading. I’m not sure if that’s very good for her
That’s weird about a dress code! I’m assuming you’re at college or university from what I read in your sidebar, but then again you probably live in a different country to me. I’d hate it if there were a dress code at my university… I’d rebel!
you got scoliosis? my sister does too. she used to have therapies but then it suddenly stopped. I don’t know why. O_o
good luck on your first day! My first day was a blast. I hope yours would turn out the same.
I am happy I to hear that you won’t be needing surgery after all. I really hope that you will get well again as fast as lightning!
Ooh that’s wonderful news! Surgery would just be awful. My doctor thought I had scoliosis but it turns out my curve wasn’t as bad as she thought. So like you I just have to go to a yearly check up.
I hope you enjoy your books.
Yay, no surgery! I hope your back gets better as you do more physical therapy!
Your best option might have been to call the dean’s office to find out. Or maybe your adviser. Hope it worked out for you.
Good that you don’t need surgery!
Also, good luck with school! And wow, books! I love reading lots so I might go check out those you mentioned.
I love sitting down with a new book. It’s such a wonderful feeling just being able to relax with a new book. oohh i want to go book shopping now, damn!
Those sounds like some really great books
i might look them up
