PS, I Love You…

I was approved for the 12 fanlistings I applied for (new and adopted). I have to make layouts for them as well as for those still in upcoming at Ardent. And I still have to finish my entry for the Blend contest at The Grey Havens. I’m practicing my Photoshop skills. haha. I don’t think they’re up to scratch right now… I haven’t designed anything in a while - well, except for the Jonathan Stroud fanlisting and the Noldor fanlisting. I think those two turned out okay. Even nice. What do you guys think?

Life…is pretty boring. haha. My neck’s all better. I put some ointment on it and sat still for most of the day. haha.

My sister just got home so I’m going to pester her a bit after I post this. I’m procrastinating (details under “School”).

Sammy just shoved my bedroom door open with his nose. ~~Lazy dog.~~ Lucky dog. The only things he worries about are food and his human “pets.” LOL. But I’ll let you in on a secret. Sam’s a real scaredycat. He’s afraid of the dark, flashlights, cellphone backlights, airplanes, etc. haha. But he’s really feisty…and he can be really annoying. He just doesn’t stop barking. *sweatdrop*

I finished Plate No. 2 (Optical Illusion) for COLREND. It’s in varying shades of red and green. 10″ x 15″ Illustration Board. Poster Colors: Red, Blue, Yellow, White. Flat Brushes: 0, 1, 2. Pointed Brush: 1.

I still have to work on Plate No. 1 (Spot Manipulation) for DESPRIN. 9″ x 12″ Sketch Pad. Graphite Pencils: F, HB. Tech Pens: 0.3, 0.8. Then I need to find 3 pieces of stone for my HARTDS1 homework - they have to stand like a segment of Stonehenge. They need to be in their natural form. We’re not supposed to alter them in any way. Gaaaaah! Oh, and I have to go shopping for the next plate for FREHAND - we’re going to do some inverted shading (we’ll be using white and brown drawing pencils to shade on gray paper).

I really, really should start working on my Spot Manipulation. I have to do it over again because I smudged one of the frames (I don’t want any points taken off on this one because it’s actually incredibly easy to do, the only thing that will probably be tiring is filling in all the spots).

*Note: I’ll scan ALL of my plates when I have free time.

I dunno why but I checked out Cecelia Ahern’s official website earlier… Good thing I did. I found out that the movie adaptation of her book PS, I Love You is in post-production. Gerard Butler will be playing Gerry Kennedy. I loved him in The Phantom of the Opera and 300 (I wasn’t a big fan of the beard though…*cough*banana*cough*). Yay! I can’t wait to see it… I loved the book… It always makes me cry (I’ve read it at least half a dozen times).

I’m flipping through the pages right now…trying to find a nice quote. *feeling choked up already*

I got my copy of The Children of HÃºrin by J.R.R. Tolkien the other day. I’m afraid to take it out of the shrink wrap and expose it to the elements. LOL. I’ll leave it in its lovely mint condition until I’m sure I can finish reading it.

I NEED to finish the books I’ve been reading alternately for the past few months. Otherwise, my reading list will just keep getting longer. I’ll probably start the His Dark Materials trilogy and the Old Kingdom series soon.

I need to find some new music. I’ll appreciate any suggestions…Artists, bands, songs..? Please? Ahh congrats on being approved for those 12 fanlistings *ack* Goodluck with setting those up! Those two layouts look pretty sweet~ *gulp* Sounds like are a busy girl :D Hahaha~ I have a lazy/lucky dog too - but he’s … hahaha, he doesn’t even blink when you tease him. He just stares at you, sighs and looks away XD Crazy dog! I love when people talk about their pets Sammy sounds so cute! Thats funny how he’s scared of all those things. I’ve never heard of a dog being afraid of the dark LOL.
OK, don’t know if you’ll like them or not but my son has turned me on to porcupine tree. At first I was like there is no way I’ll like a band with that name but the music is really good.

Glad your neck is feeling better! And your dog sounds so cuuuute…I really want a dog! But I don’t see it happening anytime in the near future, as they don’t allow pets in the college dorms and my parents are 100%-anti pets.

And I would so give you song suggestions but all the songs I listen to are in a different language…XD So I don’t know if you’d like them…

I’ve seen PS, I Love You in bookstores several times but never bought it. I looked up the book and it sounds really good. I think I’ll buy it the next time I’m in a bookstore. I’ve been looking for a few good books lately.

Oh the His Dark Materials trilogy is really good! They do talk negatively about the church though, but if I recall correctly it’s mostly the Catholic church. I really enjoyed the little daemons that the people in his world had though.

My cat Max is the laziest creature on Earth… and is also worthy of the the title “Scaredy Cat” (what as wuzz, so scared of other cats, lol). Yes, the humans are his pets, too… haha.

I love to read, too… although I’m a bit of a… book rat… no, not “book worm”… I define a book packrat is a person who buys loves to buy LOTS of books with the plan to read ‘em all… is always behind in reading. The books start “packing” dust on the shelves, lol.

12 fanlistings eh? I can’t even handle one!! Although there’s a newer band out called Dala that I think I’m going to try for. They’re kind of folkish…music suggestion there lol. I listen to a lot of folk type stuff. Great Big Sea and Dido are what I’ve been listening to most lately. Dido’s Life For Rent cd is awesome! Good luck with all your endeavors! Sounds like you’re busy! I’ve actually found your post quite motivational…I think I’m going to go apply for that fanlisting and work on my profile site!

I had a fanlisting once, you know, one, and I, uh, gave up LOL, but I’m sure you will keep up with them. The main part is the layout, since no fanlistings ever seem to change those… So your seem nice, good job !

You listen to such a wide aray of music! I dont know what to tell you maybe just go check out vh1 on mtv online, see if there is any good newish music on there yet, or if we are still stuck with that avril lavine song… catchy yet

God! His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman? I DEFINITELY recommend those books! They’re so damn cool!!! I must admit, they’re really cool. At least, I have something more in common with you than Wheel of Time. But anyway, I wish you good luck in your studies. I hope you make it and become a good graphics artist someday. Oh, and by the way, The Golden Compass is going to be shown next year. I am definitely going to watch. Hope you enjoy reading His Dark Materials. Give me a shout on what you think of the books.

PS, I Love You was a great book even if it made me cry like a baby and I am really stoked they are making a movie of it. I hope the movie is as good as the book!
