Just by reading the synopsis, I knew it was going to be more like The Pursuit of Happyness than any of Will Smith’s other films. My family isn’t into drama so I didn’t get to finish it but I thought it had a nice plot. Will Smith’s character, Tim Thomas, was a bit on the extremist side of helping others, trying to atone for his past mistake. I’m not sure the fact that I’m Catholic really has much to do with the way I feel about his quest for atonement… Tell me, does the fact that he helped seven people justify suicide?

Justify suicide in which way? I don’t think he needs to justify it but on the other hand I’m not religous either so I probably don’t look at suicide the same way you do. To me suicide is not a sin but rather a active (but very sad) choice some people do and have all the right to do since it’s their lives.

I haven’t seen the movie yet but it’s on my list (or should be) of movies that I need to watch. I thought The Pursuit of Happyness was quite good so I can’t wait to watch this. I hope you get a chance to finish the movie.

I have yet to see this movie, but I’m kind of unsure if I should watch it. I mean, I liked Pursuit of Happiness but I’m really afraid this film would be a lot like it. Things that remind me of other things always get a lower grade in my book =[ I don’t know why. Like for the new Angels & Demons movie, I don’t think I’d bother watching it just because I’ve seen and read the Da Vinci code already. And from the books…well, the books were essentially the same thing in terms of structure — eh. Maybe I’m just too picky. I do admit, I like Will Smith though. I just can’t believe how old he is now. I still think of him as his Fresh Prince days…haha, I’m so old.

ahh catholic ka pala.. hehe
Well same opinion. I am not pro-suicidal. Plus suicidal is a spirit, once a person is depressed, the spirit of suicidal will attack this person and sometimes even if the person doesn’t want to commit one.. this spirit will brainwashed and urge this person to commit.. so sometimes you’ll hear them say, (the other suicidal victims) “The devil made me do it” @.@

I didn’t care for the movie. I think Will Smith should stick with non drama’s. I like comedies or action for him. This movie was a big flop.

Shelly
Angels & Demons is way better than the Da Vinci Codes and its rating better than Star Trek. A must see.
