My husband and I have been starting to save. We’ve had to deal with a couple of big bills so it set us back for a few months but now we’re right on track! We’ve been looking at savings deposit and cd rates and we decided to just set up a joint savings account in the meantime. It’s going to be our “untouchable” account — we’ve agreed not to take any money out of that account under any circumstances. We have a few other accounts just for regular expenses and bills. It’s working out pretty well and we’ve been able to keep track of our savings and expenses. We made a pact to deposit a set amount of money each month to our savings account and we’ve been doing that diligently. We can sleep better at night knowing that we have money in the bank and we’ve been paying our bills on time every month. We can afford luxuries like going to the movies a couple of times each month, renting movies every few days and being able to eat out whenever we want to. It’s a great feeling knowing that we’re being responsible adults. I think we’ve been doing a really great job. :D
