Turducken

That’s My Answer!

  • Do you have any food rules? And would you eat turducken?

I don’t really have food rules but there are things that I would never eat.

Hmmn… Let’s see what I can list.

  1. No pickles on burgers.
  2. No onions on anything except maybe my sister’s tuna salad and macaroni salad (and any of my mom’s or grandmother’s recipes that require onions).
  3. I will eat any kind of food with a fork (or spoon) just so I won’t get anything on my fingers / hands — I wash my hands a gazillion times a day. LOL.
  4. Don’t pick food off my plate, unless you’re my husband or I gave you permission to.
  5. I save the best for last but I will always give up the last piece of food on my plate if my husband asks for it.1

That’s all I can think of at the moment.

As for Turducken, this is the first time I’ve ever heard of it. I don’t really like duck but it sounds interesting and I found some pictures that look delicious so I might try it once. If I don’t like it, I’ll probably never eat it again.

  1. He would do the same for me.

Give Me Five Monday 55

Give Me Five foods you never want to eat.

  1. WORMS. I would rather starve.
  2. Snails. I tried Escargot once and NEVER ever will again.
  3. The tongue of any animal.
  4. Reptiles or amphibians.
  5. Bugs. I don’t care if they’re chocolate-covered. They’re still bugs.

Taco Night Again

Jim and I made tacos again! We usually get soft tacos but we both felt like having crunchy ones tonight. YUM! We weren’t really paying attention when we went grocery-shopping so we got the wrong box AND forgot to buy ground beef. Jim remembered right when we were loading the groceries into the trunk so he went back but we didn’t notice the tacos until after we were home. We didn’t check the box and just got the one with 12 taco shells. Good thing the gas station near our house had some Taco Seasoning Mix. I think I had 5 tacos this time and Jim had 7. They were reaaally good. We probably won’t have tacos for a while though. That was a LOT. LOL.

Taco Night

Jim went grocery-shopping today (I’m so lucky to have a husband who doesn’t mind going grocery-shopping on a Sunday.) and bought tacos! He also bought me Dutch Apple Pie. He’s so thoughtful. He always remembers the things I like. Anyway, the tacos were supposed to be for dinner but we ended up making it early. He bought the Taco Bell double deckers. It was so good! (I’m always wary of cooking ground beef — I stood by the stove almost the whole time I was cooking it.)

My mother-in-law wrote me an email today asking about Thanksgiving. Jim and I are hosting it this year and everyone’s bringing something. We’re going to try doing the turkey. I’m so nervous! I’ve never cooked turkey. I was usually in charge of finger food, sandwiches, salads and desserts. Oooh, I’m going to make graham cake. :D That’s one thing I know people will like. It’s always been a hit at home. I might make homemade ice cream too. ;) Wish us luck with the turkey!!!

My Husband is Wonderful

My hubby made a quick trip to the grocery on his way home from work last night. He called me to check if we needed anything and I said maybe some fat-free ranch and light butter. He’s trying to lose some weight — mind you, he looks really good! — he just needs to start eating healthier. I’m eating what he eats so he won’t feel bad about being on a diet. Anyway, when he got home I got a big surprise! He bought Iced Turtle Hershey Brownies just for me…
